Jacking Control Panels Upgrade
Monitor Systems Upgrades Obsolete Jacking Control Panels.
Monitor Systems completed an obsolescence survey on the jacking control panels for a client. Based on the results and due to repeated failures, new jacking control panels were designed to be installed in the existing system cabinets.
Survey
A site survey was conducted on the Jack-up rig, and where possible, the new Jacking Control Panels were designed to integrate into the existing consoles with minimum alterations to the existing wiring.
Upgrade
The new panels were designed, built and tested at Monitor Systems workshop in Aberdeen.
Utilising proven well tested components such as Siemens MPCBs & contactors Monitor Systems have created robust solution with long term spares availability to minimise any future down-time.

Installation & Commissioning
One of Monitors System's Senior Project Engineers travelled to the asset to assist the rig crew with installation and comissioning of the new equipment.
Robert Cowan - Senior Project Engineer added - “Undertaking the installation while the rig was operating between rig moves gave rise to several challenges, such as time restraints and ensuring testing was completed successfully in time for the next rig move. By attendng the rig for the whole installation and comissioning we were able to deliver on time and in keeping with Monitor Systems high standards."
